French Salon Music
at Swafield Hall Gardens

Alex Rider – Harp
Rebecca Kaznowski – Soprano

SATURDAY 22nd August 2020, 4 pm

This outdoor concert at Swafield Hall Gardens was recreating the intimate tone and ambience of French Salon music and will include beautiful and sublime melodies by Debussy, Fauré, Caplet and Schumann, interwoven with works for a solo harp. Alex Rider is a harpist with a passion for the history and lore of the instrument, and, if the weather permits,  will be performing on an original French Erard harp dating from 1902.

The concert took place in front of the French-style Parterre garden of C16th Swafield Hall’s Georgian South elevation, influenced by French country house architecture.

Rebecca Kaznowski (soprano) and Alex Rider (harp) are part of the Eynsford Ensemble. The ensemble was formed in 2017 by Tadzik Kaznowski and his father Zbys Kaznowski. It is comprised of 24 musicians, all with the same love for making music with friends. The main objective of the ensemble is to use music to engage, to raise funds for various good causes and raise awareness of upcoming composers.

All concert proceeds are donated to Trunch and Swafield Church restoration projects.
Guests were seated outdoors on the Main Lawn of Swafield Hall with social distancing of 2 metres.
The number of places was limited. Pre-booking only. Tickets – £15.

Swafield Hall’s Gardens was open for the concert audience.
